Working with Anger: A Two-Part Workshop

WITH ZEN TEACHER DIANE MUSHO HAMILTON AND ANGELLA OKAWA, LMFT, PCC

Transform your relationship to anger through Zen practice and Enneagram wisdom.

Two-session Workshop
Friday, October 17 & Friday October 24, 2025
9:00 am - noon Mountain Time

Anger is one of our most powerful emotions—and one we often handle poorly. Most of us either suppress our anger or get swept away by it. But what if anger could become a source of clarity, energy, and deeper connection?

In this transformative two-session workshop, you'll discover how to work skillfully with anger through the lens of Zen practice and Enneagram wisdom. You'll learn to transmute reactive patterns into conscious responses, turning emotional intensity into intelligent action.

Whether you're a coach, healing practitioner, or simply someone seeking greater emotional maturity, this workshop will deepen your capacity to navigate conflict and help others do the same.

SESSION 1 - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17

EMOTIONAL TRANSFORMATION: WORKING WITH THE ENERGY OF ANGER

What happens when we stop fighting our anger and start working with it?

In this workshop, you'll explore the neurobiology of anger and learn practical techniques for transmuting emotional reactivity into clarity. Through guided practices and Zen-informed approaches, you'll develop the skills to interrupt the mind-body feedback loop that keeps us stuck in reactive patterns.

  • Deepen your capacity to stay present with discomfort, disagreement, and conflict
  • Better support clients who struggle to find their voice or set boundaries
  • Transform your own relationship with anger and intensity

Day of Integral Diversity

Diane Musho Hamilton

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH

I am a meditator and a meditator. Meditation deepens our relationship to oneness; mediation puts it into action. I was the Director of Dispute Resolution for the Judiciary in Utah, mediating a wide range of matters, but was particularly recognized for my skills in facilitating difficult conversations. I enjoy the intimacy of conflict and its creative potential. I began working with Ken Wilber in 2004 and, for fifteen years, held transformative containers for many people interested in their own development. I teach meditation in the Soto lineage of Zen. I've written four books, most recently, Waking Up and Growing Up: Spiritual Cross-Training for an Evolving World, co-authored with Gabriel Wilson.

Angella Okawa, LMFT, PCC

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

I am a coach, therapist, and facilitator dedicated to helping people stay present with difference. My path began in technology and design thinking, where I learned to navigate complexity. Over time, I was drawn to the depths of our human experience, immersing myself in work with trauma, culture, and identity. I am in awe of the connection and aliveness that arises when we meet discomfort with openness and curiosity. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), a certified Integral Coach and Enneagram Coach, and a lay Zen monk. Trained in the Hakomi Method and Real LIFE Facilitation, I bring a somatic, relational, and contemplative approach to working with individuals and groups, helping them cultivate greater resilience and connection.
